The existing systems and institutions were built on the assumption that those who ran them, ran them for the long-term good of the many. Instead, they are run for the short-term good of the few.

This approach to institutions and system need to change whereby we assume no trust IE Trustless systems.

If we start with that assumption it leads us to build transparent systems without centralized authority, which ultimately empower individuals over authorities. Bitcoin is just the first example.

Looking ahead, many of our centralized systems will become decentralized through blockchain technology. The next 20 years are going to bring a greater level of transformation than the Internet brought.
