I'm glad you're shedding light on an important topic. It's perplexing that the topic carries little interest given its impact on personal finances.
If the government declared it would impose an additional 2% tax every year and then actually taxed at 4% every year, people would scream bloody murder. Whether through taxes or inflation, your purchasing power is reduced.
But there seems to be little bother with inflation although many would agree that every year a dollar just doesn't go as far. What I make as a salaried employee would have been a boon 20 years ago. Today I'm thankful for it, but it definitely does not go as far.
I agree with you Tim, it's best we all learn about these topics because they will impact us all.
